The Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants continue to fight over the services of Angel Pagan, but which player could be the biggest winner in this?
The winter meetings have begun and the rumors are heating up when it comes to this year's top free agents, including center fielder Angel Pagan. The Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants continue to compete against each other to sign the outfielder, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
Sources: #Phillies, #SFGiants still vying for Pagan. Cody Ross also an option for both clubs, though not in same CF/leadoff role.
Pagan has said to already received four-year offers from both clubs with Philadelphia offering more money.
The biggest winner in all this could be free agent corner outfielder Cody Ross, though. According to Rosenthal, Ross remains in play for both clubs.
The losing team in the Pagan sweepstakes could make a quick sign with Ross, who would obviously require less money and fewer years, allowing the team to make a run at another notable free-agent, such as Michael Bourn or Josh Hamilton.
