Braves rumors: Julio Teheran, Randall Delgado available?

Atlanta could depart with one of their top pitching prospects for outfield help, but would have to be "significant."

The Atlanta Braves are exploring all possibilities in acquiring a left fielder, and may elect to trade top pitching prospects Randall Delgado and Julio Teheran if the return is "significant," reports David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Wren didn’t name any specific trade possibilities remaining on the Braves’ board, but they’ve inquired about Arizona’s Justin Upton, Colorado’s Dexter Fowler, Cleveland’s Shin-Soo Choo and Kansas City’s Alex Gordon, among others.

So far, the asking price for each was too high, either because it was too many young players or specific ones the Braves aren’t going to part with...

While the Braves aren’t interested in trading young starting pitchers Kris Medlen or Mike Minor, prospects Julio Teheran and Randall Delgado could be available.

"But] if we’re going to trade one of those guys it’s going to be a significant deal," Wren said. "And I don’t know if that’s going to happen or not."

Most teams have focused on shortstop Andrelton Simmons in their discussions with the Braves, but the club has repeatedly stated that the young infielder is "unreachable."

The Braves added B.J. Upton to the outfield last week, and have Jason Heyward in right, but still need someone to take over for Martin Prado -- who is moving to third base -- in left field. General manager Frank Wren told O'Brien that the club would be comfortable moving forward with internal options in left, but that he would not be satisfied.
