The Chicago White Sox are set to sign Jeff Keppinger to a 3-year deal according to Jon Heyman:

The deal is worth $12 million, according to Ken Rosenthal.

Keppinger, 32, had been drawing increasing interest as a limited 3B market plays out, especially with the Yankees on the market for an A-Rod replacement. Danny Knobler reported just this morning that Keppinger was drawing interest from multiple teams, including the Yankees, and that a 3-year, $13 million deal was being considered.

As we reported earlier, there was no small concern that Keppinger's broken leg (falling down the stairs, allegedly) would reduce his already-modest asking price, but a 3-year deal of any sort is probably a coup for the 3rd baseman.

An 8-year vet, Keppinger has spent time with multiple clubs, including the Mets, Royals, Reds, Astros, Giants, and most recently, the Rays. He's a career .288/.337/.396 hitter, but he was able to cobble together 418 plate appearances of .325/.367/.439 with the Rays in 2012.
