Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE
The Cubs and Cardinals finally made their presence known in Nashville, while the Pirates worked out a small trade with the Detroit Tigers.
After a quiet first couple of days in Nashville, the NL Central finally made some noise, notching its first free agent signing of the winter meetings and completing a minor trade. Two of the three moves aren’t a lot to write home about, but they’re much better than the large amount of nothing coming out of the division on Monday and Tuesday.
Without further ado, here’s a recap of Day 3 in the NL Central.
Signings / Acquisitions
- Chicago Cubs sign OF Nate Schierholtz to one-year, $2.25 million deal
- St. Louis Cardinals sign LHP Randy Choate to a three-year, $7.5 million deal
- Pittsburgh Pirates acquire LHP Andrew Oliver from the Detroit Tigers for C Ramon Cabrera
Ongoing Rumors
In case you missed them, here are the Day 1 and Day 2 recaps for the NL Central. Be sure to check in tomorrow for a full recap of the winter meetings.
