The Texas Rangers have traded right-hander Wilfredo Boscan to the San Diego Padres as the player to be named later in the Corey Burns deal, reports T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com:

The Rangers have traded pitcher Wilfredo Boscan to the Padres. He is the Player to Be Named Later in the trade that sent reliever Corey Burns to the Rangers. The deal was completed after the Rule 5 draft.

The Rangers acquired Burns from the Padres on Nov. 28 in exchange for a player to be named later. The 25-year-old posted an ERA of 3.14 over 54 appearances for San Diego’s Triple-A affiliate last season. He owns a career ERA of 2.36 with 11.2 strikeouts and 2.2 walks per nine innings over four seasons in the minors.

Boscan spent the 2012 season with the Rangers Double-A squad, posting an ERA of 3.75 over 34 appearances, including nine starts. The 23-year-old has maintained a career ERA of 4.00 with 7.0 strikeouts and 2.1 walks per nine innings over six seasons at the minor league level.
