The Red Sox added that Godfrey has been assigned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
The Red Sox claimed Rosario off waivers from the Miami Marlins in the middle of Oct. and proceeded to trade him to the A’s the next month for a player to be named later.
Rosario appeared in four games with the Marlins last season, allowing six runs on eight hits with two strikeouts over three innings. The 27-year-old spent a majority of the season in Miami’s minor league system, posting an ERA of 1.99 over 31 appearances, including two starts, with the Marlins’ high-, Double- and Triple-A clubs.
Godfrey appeared in five games, including four starts, with the A’s last season. Over 21 innings the 28-year-old allowed 18 runs on 21 hits with 10 walks and 10 strikeouts. He pitched most of the season for Oakland’s Triple-A club, posting an ERA of 3.29 over 104 innings.
