  Sussan Slusser from the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Oakland Athletics are very likely to sign Manny Ramirez. She says that they will sign him just before or a little after the start of the 2012 MLB season.

  The Seattle Mariners have announced (via Twitter) catcher Chris Gimenez has declined his outright assignment to Triple-A and instead opted for free agency.
• Rangers, Mike Napoli Avoid Aribitration - MLB Daily Dish
  The Texas Rangers have signed Mike Napoli to a 1-year, $9.4 million deal, according to Jeff Wilson and confirmed by the team. Napoli had filed for $11.5 million, but the Rangers had counted with $8.3 million, so the deal comes in just under the halfway point. The deal allows each to avoid arbitration for now, though he does become a free agent after the 2012 season.

  The Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics are nearing a trade centered around relief pitcher Koji Uehara, according to Joe Stiglich of the San Jose Mercury News. Uehara has been in trade rumors for a while now as the Rangers retool their pitching staff for the 2012 season.

  The Los Angeles Angels won't likely extend Erick Aybar before the regular season, according to Alden Gonzalez, who spoke with Jerry Dipoto.
• Bobby Abreu Has Not Requested Trade from Angels - MLB Daily Dish
  Mike DiGiovanna from the Los Angeles Times reports that Bobby Abreu will have a chance to compete for playing time this spring at the DH position. With Albert Pujols now the Anaheim Angels first baseman, Mark Trumbo and Kendry Morales were expected to see most of the time at DH. However, they have faced some injuries, giving Abreu a chance.
