The Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles are the teams most interested in Manny Ramirez, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, but it's unclear whether either club has made an offer to the free agent. It was reported last month the A's are very interested in Manny Ramirez, and the Orioles were also in the mix.
Ramirez needs to serve his 50-game suspension before he can start playing again, but he's free to sign with a club. There's no risk in signing him, since it would only require a minor league deal with an invite to spring training to see if one of the most feared hitters has anything left in the tank.
The only question is if any team is willing to take on the baggage Manny brings with him. If he does, a team could get some good plate appearances off the bench and maybe some starts at the DH slot.
