Roy Oswalt Decision as Soon as Tomorrow
Roy Oswalt's decision on which team to join could come as soon as tomorrow, according to Jim Bowden of ESPN.
We haven't heard much from the Oswalt camp over the past week, as the market for the 34 year-old has evaporated. Much of this is his own doing, as Oswalt has (supposedly) restricted his potential landing spots to teams near his home in Mississippi like Texas and St. Louis. He's gone so far as to tell teams like the Indians not to bother, and now that the Cardinals are more or less set and the Rangers don't really have room for him (unless they move Uehara), he doesn't leave many options.
That's unless there's a mystery team, of course, or unless Oswalt has changed his mind about pitching with the Boston Red Sox. As Bowden says, we're sure to know soon enough.

Boston or St. Louis
Rangers have stopped trying to move Uehara. St. Louis has been trying to clear space for him all offseason but hasn’t been able to. If he picks tomorrow, it very well could be Boston.

Near his home?
I don’t quite get this. Are Dallas and St. Louis so much closer to Mississippi? Is he going to drive? Otherwise, an extra 30 minutes in a plane to Cleveland, is well, not that much for a job like this.
One gets paid millions of dollars to play the game, how on earth do this guys get so demanding, about such trivial things. Pitching roles, team camaraderie, coaching style, all these I understand much more than distance from home (when it is multiple states away regardless).
In the long run men hit only what they aim at. Therefore, though they should fail immediately, they had better aim at something high.
