The Kansas City Royals have agreed to a contract extension with 21 year old catcher Salvador Perez. The deal will pay him $7M over five guaranteed years, with club options for 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Bob Dutton of the Kansas CIty Star tweets that if he maxes all of his incentives, Salvador Perez could make up to $26.5M. Perez, who signed as an amateur free agent with the Royals back in 2006, posted a 128 OPS+ over 39 games in his first year in the majors.
