Braves Looking to Acquire Outfield Help

ST PETERSBURG, FL - OCTOBER 03: Johnny Damon #22 of the Tampa Bay Rays heads to third base in the seventh inning on a Casey Kotchman #11 single before scoring the Rays second run later in the inning against the Texas Rangers in Game Three of the American League Division Series at Tropicana Field on October 3, 2011 in St Petersburg, Florida. David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution tweets that the Atlanta Braves have been looking to pick up a backup outfielder since before Chipper Jones' injury, and "will continue to do so." O'Brien notes that free agent OF Johnny Damon, 38, could be a fit -- though it's not clear how much interest Atlanta has in him.

For now, the Braves will have Martin Prado take over at third base, with Eric Hinske, Michael Bourn, and Jason Heyward covering the outfield.
