According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, Ryan Madson needs Tommy John surgery, and will be out for the entire 2012 season. The ligament in Madson's elbow was reportedly torn off the bone.

With Madson out, Rosenthal reports that Sean Marshall is likely to close for the Reds, with Aroldis Chapman heading back to the bullpen.
