The Kansas City Royals announced that they've traded outfielder Greg Golson to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations. Golson, 26, was selected by the Phillies in the first round of the draft back in 2004. He signed with the Royals as a free agent this December. Across eight minor-league seasons (855 games), he's posted a .263/.311/.396 line with 172 stolen bases. He's primarily played in centerfield, though he has seen time in left and right as well.
Last year, Golson posted a .716 OPS with 15 stolen bases in 429 plate appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
