We learned earlier today that Twins starter Scott Baker will miss the entire 2012 season with an elbow injury, but his isn't the only setback of the day.

Broken fingers, sore elbows, baseballs off the noggin, yet another Tommy John surgery and now shingles. We're just into week two of the season and injuries are already getting creative.

Here's the latest in bumps and bruises:

  • Hellickson hit in head with ball during BP, but he's OK | The Detroit News
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Jeremy Hellickson was doing a side bullpen session Wednesday at Comerica Park while the Tigers were taking batting practice, and he was struck in the head by a batted ball.

  • Michael Kohn to undergo TJ surgery | Twitter @MikeDiGiovanna
Los Angeles Angels reliever Michael Kohn will have Tommy John surgery Thursday in Florida. He will miss at least twelve months.
