According to Amanda Comak of the Washington Times, an email was sent to the media saying that John Lannon, left handed pitcher on the Washington Nationals, has requested from general manager Mike Rizzo to be traded.

We have heard rumors of Lannan being moved since last season ended, so this does not come as a surprise. He was recently, along with his salary of $5 million, optioned to Triple A New Orleans. In his email to the media he said that he believes that he belongs in a major league starting rotation.

Ross Detwiler was named the fifth starter over Lannan after the injury to Chien Ming Wang. Many teams have shown interest in acquiring Lannan before the end of Spring Training. However, most of these teams have since worked out their rotations and pitching staffs, while other teams need pitchers now more than they did before.
