Things have been pretty quiet on the minor league sign/release front the past few days, but at least two players received some crummy Easter news that probably could have waited a day.

Hawpe returns to Rangers, assigned to Frisco | texasrangers.com: News
The Rangers have re-signed outfielder Brad Hawpe to a Minor League contract and assigned him to Double-A Frisco.
The Cubs now have a dozen pitchers, selecting the contract of reliever Rodrigo Lopez on Saturday. Infielder Luis Valbuena cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa to make room on the 25-man roster.
