Rays Prospect Tim Beckham Suspended 50 Games

Tampa Bay Rays prospect Tim Beckham, a former first overall pick (2008 MLB Draft), has been suspended for 50 games for violating the Minor League drug program. This is his second drug abuse violation.

The 22-year-old shortstop appeared in 13 games with the Durham Bulls, Tampa Bay's Triple-A affiliate hitting .204/.290/.278 across 62 plate appearances.
