Juan Rincon Elects Free Agency

Reliever Opts Out of Minor League Deal with Angels

Right-handed pitcher Juan Rincon has opted out of a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Angels and elects to be a free agent, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports:

Rincon, 33, hasn't seen Major League innings since 2010, when he pitched just two innings for the Colorado Rockies. He has ten years of pro experience, though, spending eight seasons with the Minnesota Twins, two with the Rockies, and parts of seasons with the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers.

In seventeen games for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees this season, Rincon has held onto a 3.12 ERA, giving up twenty-one hits, eighteen walks, three home runs, and eleven runs while striking out twenty three over twenty six innings.
