New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman told Chad Jennings of The Journal News that he hasn’t looked into trading for a replacement for injured outfielder Brett Gardner. Yesterday it was reported that Gardner suffered a setback while on minor league rehab assignment that is expected to keep him out until the All-Star break.

Cashman told Jennings that while he hasn’t been looking, it doesn’t mean that a future trade for an outfielder is out of the question. Cashman said that with the 2012 MLB Draft in the rearview, "people will be more interested in having conversations." Still, to this point, Cashman noted that he hasn’t had any conversations, "with anybody about anything."

Jennings reports that veteran outfielders Andruw Jones and Raul Ibanez have helped fill the void left by Gardner. Each player has performed well this season, posting OPSs north of .800. However, on the year Yankees left fielders have only hit at a clip of .205/.284/.349.
