Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler could decide where he’s going to sign within 24 to 36 hours from when bidding on the 20-year-old came due on Sunday, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. The New York Yankees "bid heavy," according to Buster Olney of ESPN, while some teams view the Chicago Cubs as the favorites for Soler. Beyond the Cubs and Yankees, the Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies have all been tied to Soler.

Thursday, Bruce Levine of ESPNChicago.com reported the White Sox, Cubs, Yankees and Marlins were expected to be the highest bidders for Soler. A day later it was announced that the Marlins were not in the running for Soler. Saturday, Olney reported Soler’s most aggressive suitors were the Cubs, Yankees, Braves and Dodgers.

George A. King III and Mike Puma of the New York Post reported yesterday that Soler is expected to agree on a four-year deal. Levine reported Thursday that industry sources believe Soler’s contract will be for between $25 and $35 million. Heyman heard from one executive who speculated Soler would get "between $20 million and Cespedes," referring to the $36 million deal Yoenis Cespedes and the Oakland Athletics agreed to this February.
