Recent injuries will not make the Texas Rangers more aggressive as they approach the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, reports Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Rangers’ general manager Jon Daniels told Wilson that recent injuries to Colby Lewis, Derek Holland and Alexi Ogando will not impact the club’s decision making as each pitcher is expected to return shortly after the All-Star break.

Lewis was placed on the DL yesterday due to forearm tendinitis. Holland hit the shelf earlier this month with left shoulder fatigue. Ogando took Holland’s place in the Rangers’ rotation, but he was forced to the DL shortly after because of a strained right groin.

Despite their recent rash of pitching injuries, the Rangers have still managed to maintain the second-best record in baseball, percentage points behind the New York Yankees. Texas has won nine of its last 11 games, including a stretch of seven straight, putting them 4 ½ games ahead of the Los Angeles Angels in the American League West.
