Here’s a recap of the transactions that occurred yesterday in the world of National League baseball. There was a single injury and two other players being optioned back to the minors, including one top prospect.
The Arizona Diamondbacks decided to option right-hander Trevor Bauer back to Triple-A following his rough debut stretch with the club.
The top prospect surrendered 13 runs, 11 earned, on 14 hits and 13 walks over his first four appearances, spanning 16 1/3 innings. All of those ugly numbers add up to a 6.06 ERA and 1.653 WHIP.
To replace Bauer on their roster, the Diamondbacks recalled Jonathan Albaladejo from Triple-A.
The San Francisco Giants have placed catcher Hector Sanchez on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left knee. Veteran backstop Eli Whiteside was recalled from Triple-A to replace Sanchez on the roster.
The Cincinnati Reds optioned right-hander Todd Redmond to Triple-A, calling up outfielder Xavier Paul to take his place on the roster.
