Astros Rumors: Everyone but Jose Altuve "Up for Grabs"

Despite trading several veterans already this summer, the Houston Astros consider all players on their roster not named Jose Altuve "up for grabs," reports Jayson Stark of ESPN:

Even after unloading Carlos Lee, Brett Myers, Wandy Rodriguez and Brandon Lyon, the Astros might not be through. Other clubs say that besides Jose Altuve ("the one guy they're not eager to move"), everyone else on the roster is still "up for grabs."

Between this off-season and summer, the Astros have traded away seven players from their major league roster, including Mark Melancon, Carlos Lee, Brett Myers, J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyon, David Carpenter and Wandy Rodriguez.

At this point, there doesn’t figure to be many players left on the Astros roster that other teams would covet. Houston only has three players who are 30 or older, and two of them, Ben Francisco and Francisco Cordero, were acquired in their 10-man trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.

There had been talk of the Astros making shortstop Jed Lowrie available, but he’s expected to be out through the month of August with an ankle injury.

Right-hander Bud Norris has also had his name come up in trade rumors before, but his value isn’t high at this point, he’s 27 and he’s under team control through 2015, so Houston probably isn’t in a hurry to move him.

Will the Astros complete another trade before the end of July?
