The Oakland Athletics are in the market for a shortstop, and their top two choices are still Stephen Drew of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Yunel Escobar of the Toronto Blue Jays, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. Heyman says the A’s are also still interested in San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley:
The A’s are in the market for a shortstop, and their top two choices are still seen as Stephen Drew and Yunel Escobar.
The now high-flying A’s remain interested in the Chase Headley market, but a match isn’t seen as likely for them.
Heyman notes that the Tampa Bay Rays and Seattle Mariners could also have an interest in adding a shortstop this summer. He says Drew is a "better possibility" for the A’s, and that the Mariners could be interested in Escobar. Heyman believes Minnesota Twins infielder Jamey Carroll could also be traded.
It was reported earlier this morning that the Diamondbacks and Padres could hold onto Drew and Headley through Tuesday’s deadline.

What position do the A's need to target in trades this summer?
