UPDATE 6:00 AM EST: Schierholtz has denied making any declaration that he wants to be traded, reports Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area.
"I haven’t said one thing about anything other than baseball in two weeks," said Schierholtz.
"Nothing has changed at all. My agent knows if anybody is going to say anything (to the Giants), it’s me. I expressed how I felt a couple weeks ago and that was the end of it."

Original Story: According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, outfielder Nate Schierholtz wants to be involved in the trade frenzy and has requested a trade from the San Francisco Giants. The 28-year-old Schierholtz has spent his entire professional career with the Giants since being drafted by the team in the 2nd-round of the '03 draft.

We had heard earlier this month Schierholtz was the type of player that would draw interest at the trade deadline, given his spot on the depth chart and limited options for the parent club.
The corner outfielder is batting .247/.316/.418 in 190 plate appearances over 76 games this season. Likely upset with his playing time and the way he's been handled by the team, it should be noted Schierholtz has played in 8 straight games.
