The lineups have been announced for Major League Baseball’s 2012 All-Star game. As the games are being played in an American League ballpark, Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium, they include designated hitters. Below is a round-up of who made the starting lineup in the National League.
Here’s your National League starting lineup:DH – Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies
CF – Melky Cabrera, San Francisco Giants
LF – Ryan Braun, Milwaukee Brewers
1B – Joey Votto, Cincinnati Reds
RF – Carlos Beltran, St. Louis Cardinals
C – Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants
3B – Pablo Sandoval, San Francisco Giants
2B – Dan Uggla, Atlanta Braves
SS – Rafael Furcal, St. Louis Cardinals
SP – Matt Cain, San Francisco GiantsOne of the more controversial picks involving the NL’s lineup had to do with who will be taking the ball first for the Senior Circuit. It will be Matt Cain, not knuckler-baller R.A. Dickey, starting for the NL. Cain made history earlier this season with his perfecto, but Dickey sports the superior ERA and WHIP at the break.
You’ll also notice that the NL is lacking players currently ranked 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the league in fWAR, David Wright, Andrew McCutchen, Michael Bourn and Carlos Ruiz.

What would your lineup for the NL look like?
