The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled left-hander Patrick Corbin to start today’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team has announced:
ROSTER MOVE: Team recalls

Corbin made his major league debut earlier this season, appearing in 10 games, including five starts. Over 39 innings pitched, Corbin maintained an ERA and WHIP of 4.15 and 1.359 with 6.9 SO/9 and 3.0 BB/9.
The 22-year-old has spent a majority of the season pitching in the minors with Arizona’s Double- and Triple-A affiliates. Over 13 starts spanning 79 1/3 innings, he posted an ERA and WHIP of 2.84 and 1.286.
Corbin was scheduled to start yesterday in the minors, but he was scratched. This move led many to speculate that a potential trade was brewing, as Arizona was rumored to be pursuing a front-line starting pitcher.
Corbin’s promotion pushes right-hander Josh Collmenter back to the Diamondbacks’ bullpen.
