Infielder Brooks Conrad has accepted an assignment to the minors and has been outrighted by the Tampa Bay Rays to Triple-A, the team has announced:

Conrad was designated for assignment by the Rays earlier this week to make room on their roster for third baseman Evan Longoria, who was activated from the disabled list.

Conrad signed a free agent deal with the Milwaukee Brewers this off-season and appeared in twenty-five games for the club, hitting only .075/.136/.225 over forty at-bats. This lackluster performance resulted in him being designated for assignment by Milwaukee.

The 32-year-old was then claimed by the Rays. Conrad has appeared in twenty-four games with Tampa Bay, hitting .172/.213/.362 with five doubles and two home runs. He owns a career line of .207/.278/.400 over five years at the major league level.

Conrad has also appeared in twenty-five games at the Triple-A level this season with the Brewers and Rays, hitting .379/.465/.862 over eighty-seven at-bats.
