• San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval just started his rehab assignment Friday, but could be back with the big club by Monday, according to Quinn Roberts of MLB.com.
• Brett Anderson of the Oakland Athletics pitched six scoreless innings of three-hit ball in his most recent rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento, reports Johnny Doskow of MiLB.com. He struck out four and walked one.
• Milwaukee Brewers starter Shaun Marcum gave up a solo home run over three innings while striking out three in his rehab start for Class-A Wisconsin, reports Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
• Boston Red Sox reliever Andrew Bailey pitched in back-to-back games for Triple-A Pawtucket. He pitched a scoreless inning, recording two strikeouts, and hit 94 mph with his fastball, reports Alex Speier of WEEI.
