The Baltimore Orioles have acquired LHP J.C. Romero, according to Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.

Romero, who appeared in 11 games for the Cardinals early in the season, most recently pitched with Triple-A Columbus, an affiliate of the Indians.

The Orioles had Romero with their Triple-A club in Norfolk earlier in the year, but he opted to leave the club to explore other MLB options. It's unclear whether or not Romero will be added to the active roster, but he could help the team as an extra lefty reliever in September when teams are allowed to have anyone from the 40-man roster on the active roster.

It's a low impact deal that could save some of the Orioles stronger relievers for higher leverage situations.
