The 26-year-old Socolovich got a cup of coffee for the first time in his career, appearing in just six games with the Orioles. In 10 1/3 innings of work, the righy allowed eight runs to score and walked as many batters (six) as he struck out.
On the other hand, Romero, who re-joined the Orioles organization recently, now gets the call up to the show as he had wanted before opting out of his first deal. The 36-year-old has bounced around recently, but will now be looking to make an impact as a southpaw of the Orioles bullpen.
