Cust signed on with the Houston Astros this off-season before being released by the club at the end of March. He quickly reached an agreement with the Yankees, and the 33-year-old spent the season with their Triple-A affiliate.
Over Cust’s 98 games spanning 337 at-bats, he hit at a clip of .249/.400/.475 with 14 doubles, 20 home runs, 66 RBIs, 81 walks and 127 strikeouts.
Cust last played in the majors as a member of the Seattle Mariners during the 2011 season. Over 225 at-bats, he posted a line of .213/.344/.329 with 15 doubles, three home runs and 23 RBIs.
Wise signed a free agent deal with the Yankees this off-season and appeared in 56 games with the club. Over 61 at-bats, the 34-year-old hit at a clip of .262/.286/.492 with three doubles, three home runs and 11 runs scored.
