The Chicago Cubs have acquired right-hander Miguel Socolovich on waivers from the Baltimore Orioles, reports Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago:

The 26-year-old Socolovich, who was designated for assignment by the Orioles last week, made just six relief appearances for Baltimore this season. The rookie right-hander posted a 6.97 ERA and 5.2 K/9 in ten and a third innings of work.
Signed by the Red Sox out of Venezuela as an amateur free agent in 2004, Socolovich is now moving on to his fourth big league club. The righty put up his best professional numbers in the minor leagues this season, amassing a 1.96 ERA and 9.0 K/9 in fifty-two innings at Triple-A.
Catcher Blake Lalli was designated for assignment to make room on the Cubs 40-man roster for Socolovich. Lalli, 29, appeared in just six games for the Cubs this season.
