Milwaukee handed Wolf his walking papers (on his birthday) after the 36-year-old only mustered an ERA of 5.69 with 6.1 SO/9 and 2.8 BB/9 over twenty-five appearances, including twenty-four starts.
A fourteen-year veteran, Wolf owns a career ERA of 4.19. He was impressive last season for Milwaukee, maintaining an ERA of 3.69 over thirty-three starts spanning 212 and one-third innings.
The Orioles have been seeking starting pitching help for much of the summer. The veteran’s role with the club isn’t yet clear, but he would be an option as a starter or a left-handed reliever. The Orioles also added left-hander Joe Saunders this weekend.
Orioles’ starters have combined to post an ERA of 4.70 on the season. It’s the twenty-third-worst mark in the majors this season.
