The Cincinnati Reds have outrighted infielder Mike Costanzo to Triple-A and right-hander Andrew Brackman to High-A.

Costanzo was designated for assignment earlier this week by the Reds to make room on their roster for catcher Dioner Navarro.

Costanzo, 28, made his major league debut earlier this season and has appeared in 17 games total with the Reds. Over his 18 at-bats, he only collected a single hit.

Costanzo has spent a majority of the season with the Reds’ Triple-A affiliate, but he’s also seen time at the Double-A level. Over his combined 266 at-bats, he’s hit at a clip of .274/.377/.459 with seventeen doubles and ten home runs.

Brackman was also designated for assignment this week during the flurry of moves that, in part, made room on the Reds’ roster for right-hander Jonathan Broxton.

Brackman did not appear in a game with Cincinnati prior to being designated. The former top prospect has spent most of the season with the Reds’ High-A affiliate, posting an ERA of 5.08 with 6.7 K/9 and 4.8 BB/9 over his nineteen appearances, including three starts.
