The Arizona Diamondbacks have claimed shortstop Cody Ransom off of waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers, the team announced today. The team has not made a corresponding move and may not need to. With rosters expanding to 40 tomorrow, the D'Backs can wait to activate Ransom.

@brewers, Ransom to be activated tomorrow when rosters expand
If you remember, it wasn't too long ago Ransom was a member of the D'Backs and part of their organization. He was a victim of the numbers game, though, which allowed the Brewers to swoop in and get a short-term replacement.
The 36-year-old shortstop, who batted .196/.293/.345 in 194 plate appearances with the Brewers, gets a chance to stick around with the D'Backs again -- at least for the remainder of this season. The infielder batted .269/.345/.577 in 58 plate appearances with the D'Backs this season.
