Prior to Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Chicago Cubs promoted a pair of their top prospects to the big leagues in outfielder Brett Jackson and third baseman Josh Vitters, as reported by Carrie Muskat of MLB.com. To make room on the roster for both players, the Cubs optioned the speedy Tony Campana to Class Triple-A Iowa.

Entering the 2012 season, Baseball America ranked Jackson as the Cubs' No. 1 prospect and "ready to play in the majors." While Jackson does have tools to be a valuable player in the majors, there is one aspect of his game that is concerning: strikeouts. The 23-year-old Jackson always whiffed often, but he took it to another level in 2012, striking out in nearly 34% of his plate appearances.
