The Cleveland Indians have designated infielder Jose Lopez for assignment, reports Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer:

#Indians RHP Frank Herrmann recalled, Jose Lopez DFA'd.
In a corresponding roster move, the Indians have recalled right-hander Frank Hermann from Triple-A.
The Indians signed Lopez to a free agent contract this off-season. The 28-year-old has appeared in sixty-six games for the club this season, hitting .249/.272/.366 with thirteen doubles and four home runs over 213 at-bats.
Lopez has spent nine seasons at the major league level as a member of the Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, the then Florida Marlins and the Indians. He owns a career line of .262/.293/.396.
Hermann, 28, has spent the season with the Indians’ Triple-A affiliate. He’s appeared in 39 games spanning forty-eight and one-third innings, maintaining an ERA of 4.28 with 9.9 SO/9 and 2.4 BB/9.
Hermann’s appeared in eighty games for the Indians over the past two seasons, maintaining an ERA of 4.63.
