The San Francisco Giants have placed right-hander Shane Loux on the 15-day disabled list with a strained neck, reports Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com:
Guess Mijares caught another flight. Giants activated him. Shane Loux on the DL with that pesky neck strain again.

In a corresponding roster move, the Giants have activated left-hander Jose Mijares, who they claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Royals earlier this week.
Loux, 32, has appeared in fourteen games this season for the Giants. Over twenty and two-thirds innings pitched, he posted an ERA of 5.66 with 3.9 SO/9 and 2.6 BB/9. The right-hander has also appeared in eighteen games, including one start, in the minors. He maintained an ERA of 1.00 over twenty-seven innings of work.
Many around the league were left scratching their head when the Royals allowed Mijares to walk after being claimed by the Giants. He had posted impressive numbers with Kansas City; a 2.56 ERA over fifty-one appearances spanning thirty-eight and two-thirds innings with 8.6 SO/9 and 3.0 BB/9. The 27-year-old is making $925,000 and is under team control through the 2014 season.
