While the evening games on the East Coast get set to begin, let's take a quick look at some minor news and notes, including a former prospect that was the key to a blockbuster deal...
- New York Mets minor league pitcher Nicolas Debora has been handed a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol, as reported by Adam Rubin of ESPN New York. Not the way any 18-year-old wants to kick off their career.
- The Cleveland Indians have released right-handed pitcher Jason Knapp, according to Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer. Knapp hasn't appeared in a game since 2010 and was supposedly the key piece of the deal that sent Cliff Lee to Philadelphia.
- Kansas City Royals minor league pitcher Jose Geraldo violated MLB's drug program and has been handed a suspension of 50 games, reports Bob Dutton of The Kansas City Star. Geraldo is with Kansas City's Dominican Summer League squad.
