Oakland Athletics’ Brett Anderson left Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers with a right oblique strain, as reported by Steve Berthiaume of ESPN.

Anderson left in the third inning after a stumble from his pitching windup. Before his departure, Anderson was already clutching his right oblique after a few pitches in the third. He left with a line of 2.1 IPs, 3 ER, and one strikeout.
He was the only pitcher in the A’s rotation that was not a rookie and an important piece for the team’s playoff push. The other starting pitchers are: A.J. Griffin, Jarrod Parker, Tommy Milone, and Daniel Straily.
The A’s are currently 84-63 and in the first wild card position. Before today’s game, the A’s were only three games, behind in the AL West, behind the Texas Rangers. Anderson has only made six starts with 35 IPs, 2.57 ERA, and 25 Ks.
