SEATTLE - AUGUST 30: Manager Mike Scioscia #14 of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim argues with home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt after Brendan Ryan of the Seattle Mariners was ruled to be hit by a pitch at Safeco Field on August 30, 2011 in Seattle, Washington. "Regardless of what happens the next 11 games, Mike Scioscia will 100 percent return," Angels owner Arte Moreno said...
"I have told him. He wants to come back, I want him to come back. He's been the manager of the Angels for 13 years. He will be the manager of the Angels for a 14th year. Period."
Moreno's straightforward comments come following a Friday article from Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports that speculated Mike Scioscia and new general manager Jerry Dipoto did not get along, and that a managerial change could be in the works. Bob Nightengale of USA Today took the rumor a step further, stating that Scioscia would be the "scapegoat" for the 2013 season.
Moreno also iterated that first-year general manager Jerry Dipoto would return to the club as well.
