Los Angeles Angels right-hander Zack Greinke has enjoyed his time in Anaheim but will not discuss the possibility of staying in Southern California until the offseason, reports Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times:

It was reported at the beginning of August that the Greinke and the Angels planned on waiting to hold contract talks, but it was never clear whether that just meant later in the season or during the offseason. Greinke's interest in staying could hinge on how the team performs down the stretch and whether the Angels grab a playoff spot.

Many writers do not envision New York or Boston making a run at the former Cy Young winner, but instead expect a bidding war between the Dodgers and Angels this offseason for Greinke's services.

The 28-year-old struggled in his first few starts with his new club but, along with the rest of the Angels club, has turned things around of late. After posting a 6.19 ERA through his first five starts, Greinke has gone at least seven innings in his last three, putting up a 1.66 ERA.
