The injury-plagued southpaw is returning to Queens on a minor-league deal.

The New York Mets have signed veteran left-hander Pedro Feliciano to a minor-league contract with an invitation to big-league camp, the team has announced:

The 36-year-old southpaw returns to Queens the hope of returning to bullpen duty after two lost seasons uptown in the Bronx.

Feliciano agreed to a two-year, $8.5 million contract with the Yankees following the 2010 season but never got the chance to earn his keep. The left-hander tore the rotator cuff and capsule in his throwing shoulder and missed the entirety of the 2011 and 2012 seasons, failing to take the mound even once for the Bombers.

Prior to his injury, Feliciano was the workhorse of the Mets' bullpen, racking up a National League-best 86, 88, and 92 appearances in his final three seasons with the club.

If Feliciano manages to take the mound again this season, it will be his ninth in the big leagues (The Mets remain the only pro team he's taken the mound for). He owns a 3.31 ERA and 8.2 K/9 rate in 459 big-league appearances.
