The Tampa Bay Rays agreed to minor-league deals with outfielder Shelley Duncan and right-handers Juan Carlos Oviedo, Jamey Wright and Juan Sandoval, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. All four players will receive invitations to spring training.

Duncan, 32, hit .203/.288/.388 with 11 home runs in 264 plate appearances with the Cleveland Indians last season. Duncan, the son of legendary pitching coach Dave Duncan, is a .229/.306/.427 hitter with 41 home runs over parts of six seasons spent with the Indians and the New York Yankees.

Oviedo, the former Leo Nunez, last appeared in the major leagues in 2011 when he went 1-4 with a 4.06 ERA and 36 saves for the Marlins. The 30-year-old was disciplined for identity fraud prior to last season and only appeared in three minor league games before injuring his elbow and receiving Tommy John surgery. For his career, Oviedo is 18-20 with a 4.34 ERA and 92 saves in seven seasons spent with the Marlins and Kansas City Royals.

Wright, 37, appeared in 66 games for the Dodgers last season and went 5-3 with a 3.72 ERA. For his career, he is 90-124 with a 4.89 ERA over 17 seasons in the major leagues. The Rays will be his 10th team.

Sandoval, 31, has never appeared in a major-league game and spent 2012 in the Mexican League, where he was 7-3 with a 2.97 ERA.
