The Texas Rangers aren't expected to sign free agent right-hander Kyle Lohse or outfielder Michael Bourn.

The Texas Rangers aren't expected to sign free agent right-hander Kyle Lohse or outfielder Michael Bourn, according to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com:

Industry sources said Thursday the Rangers don't expect to sign either free agent pitcher Kyle Lohse or outfielder Michael Bourn.

The Rangers have been rumored as the favorites to sign both free agents throughout the offseason, but Sullivan notes that Texas is "not going after Lohse or Bourn." They have held discussions with agent Scott Boras, who represents both players, but they "don't plan on over-reacting to players they have been lukewarm on" since the start of the offseason, according to Sullivan.

Sullivan continues on to say that Texas likes the current makeup of their club. They are poised to allow young players such as Leonys Martin to step and show what they can do in 2013. The Rangers also have the resources to acquire a player if they ultimately decide to do so.

Still, until Bourn and Lohse officially sign elsewhere, Texas figures to continue to be tied to both players. They've lost Josh Hamilton and Mike Napoli to free agency and missed out on starters such as Zack Greinke, Josh Johnson and James Shields this offseason.
