Original Story: Even after signing free agent Scott Atchison, the New York Mets remain in the market for more relief help, perhaps even a closer, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Beyond Atchison, the Mets have signed relievers Tim Byrdak and Pedro Feliciano to minor league deals this offseason.

Still, New York continues to be in the market for bullpen arms. Frank Francisco is currently slated to be the Mets' closer for the start of the 2013 season, but his rocky first year (5.53 ERA) in the Big Apple seems to have the team looking into alternative options.

New York's bullpen candidates also consist of Bobby Parnell, Greg Burke, Josh Edgin and Jeremy Hefner.

If the Mets are to look to the free agent market for a late-inning arm, there are several options remaining. Matt Capps, Jose Valverde and Brian Wilson are a few of the more recent closers available, while Francisco Cordero, Kevin Gregg, Bobby Jenks, Brandon Lyon, Jon Rauch and Francisco Rodriguez all offer late-inning experience.
