The latest small transactions involving players with whom you may be unfamiliar.

It is about that time of the offseason when many teams have made their big moves and are now starting to tinker with minor-league rosters to add depth. Many players have moved around the past few days, though several of them are players you (and I) may have never heard of.

  • The Baltimore Orioles have released 18-year-old right-hander Elvis Duran because of an elbow problem, reports Ben Badler of Baseball America. Duran was the club's highest-paid Latin American signing in 2011, but appeared in only six summer league games.
