The infielder received interest from seven teams and had five offers on the table.

The Boston Red Sox have agreed to re-sign infielder Brandon Snyder to a minor league contract, a source has confirmed to MLB Daily Dish. The deal also includes an invitation to major league spring traning.

Snyder, who turns 27 on Saturday, elected free agency after being outrighted off the Red Sox' 40-man roster at the beginning of the month. The source notes that he drew interest from seven teams and received five offers, but ultimately opted to return to the Red Sox, who first signed him to a minor league deal at the beginning of April following him opting out of a similar contract with the Rangers.

In 27 games with the Red Sox in 2013, Snyder hit .180 with 2 HR and 7 RBI in 52 plate appearances. He appeared in 68 games for Triple-A Pawtucket, hitting .261 with 10 HR and 37 RBI before being called up to the big league club at the end of June.

In 83 major league games over four major league seasons with the Orioles (2010-2011), Rangers (2012) and Red Sox (2013), Snyder is a lifetime .243 hitter with 5 HR and 20 RBI. He is primarily a third baseman, but has also seen time at first base, left field, right field and catcher during his major league career.

Snyder confirmed the report on his personal Twitter account.
