A recap of the minor league signings around baseball from the last couple of days.

Here's a recap of some of the minor league signings around baseball in the last few days:

Pirates

The Pirates have agreed to a minor league deal with infielder Michael Martinez, according to an industry source. The deal includes a major league spring training invite. I had previously reported that Martinez was headed back to the Phillies on a minor league deal, but that report was erroneous as thousands have pointed out on Twitter. I'm sure this time.

Martinez has hit .187 with 5 HR and 34 RBI in 162 major league games over the last three seasons. He performed well with AAA Lehigh Valley last year, hitting .300 with 3 HR and 28 RBI in 71 games.

Braves

The Braves have signed first baseman Mark Hamilton to a minor league contract that includes an invite to major league spring training, according to a source. Hamilton, who has major league experience with the Cardinals, hit .265 with 12 HR and 60 RBI in 89 games for the Red Sox' AAA affiliate in 2013. The Pirates were also interested in signing him.

Atlanta also signed first baseman Mat Gamel to a minor league deal with a spring training invite, as Ben Nicholson-Smith of sportsnet.ca first reported. Gamel was recently non-tendered by the Cubs, and drew interest from them as well as the White Sox, Orioles and Rays, according to a source.

Diamondbacks

The D-Backs added two players on minor league contracts on Friday, right-hander Daniel Hudson and catcher Henry Blanco.

Hudson, whose signing was first reported by Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, was non-tendered by the team at the beginning of the month, but ultimately re-signed to stay with the organization as he spends the 2014 season rehabbing.

Blanco, 42, spent 2013 with the Blue Jays and Mariners, hitting .142 with 3 HR and 14 RBI in 50 games. He is a veteran of sixteen major league seasons with eleven different teams.

Cubs

The Cubs have been busy in the last couple of days, adding pitcher Liam Hendriks on a waiver claim and signing Ryan Roberts, Ryan Kalish and John Baker to minor league contracts.

Roberts, 33, spent 2013 with the Rays, seeing 60 games of major league time and 37 games with AAA Durham. He hit .247 with 5 HR and 47 RBI in the big leagues, and has a .245 career average in eight major league seasons with the Diamondbacks and Rays.

Kalish was non-tendered by the Red Sox at the beginning of December after missing the entire 2013 season due to injury. He was originally drafted by Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer, and joins fellow ex-Sox Daniel Bard and Darnell McDonald as Cubs' reclamation projects in the last calendar year. For his career, Kalish is a .243 hitter with 4 HR and 29 RBI in 89 major league games.

Baker, whose signing was first reported by Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, split the 2013 season between the Dodgers' and Padres' AAA affiliates. In six major league seasons, he has hit .258 with 14 HR and 105 RBI.

Royals

The Royals announced that they've added three on minor league deals-- Cory Wade, Brian Bocock and and Johermyn Chavez. We were the first to report the Wade and Bocock deals over the last few weeks.

Wade, 30, has major league experience with the Dodgers and Yankees. He spent 2013 in AAA with the Cubs, Rays and Mets, pitching to a 4-4 record and 3.86 ERA in 42 relief appearances.

Bocock has major league experience with the Giants and Phillies, hitting .134 in 38 games. He spent 2013 with the Nationals' and Pirates' AAA affiliates, and hit .175 with 3 HR and 9 RBI on the year.

Chavez has never seen time in the majors and hit .206 with 3 RBI with the Cubs' AA affiliate last year.

Indians

In addition to signing David Adams to a major league contract, the Indians added Travis Banwart, Tyler Cloyd and Matt Carson to minor league contracts that include spring training invites.

Cloyd was recently non-tendered by the Indians in an effort to get him off the 40-man roster. He is 4-9 with a 5.98 ERA in 19 games (17 starts) in the majors with the Phillies over the past two seasons.

Banwart, who turns 28 in February, has spent seven years in the Athletics' organization. In 29 games (23 starts) with AAA Sacramento in 2013, he was 10-5 with a 4.60 ERA.

Carson went 7-for-11 in 20 major league games with the Tribe in 2013, adding to his AAA totals: .252 with 14 HR and 14 RBI.

Red Sox

The Red Sox announced three minor league signings, bringing back Brandon Snyder and Miguel Celestino while adding right-hander John ElyWe first reported the Snyder signing last month.

Ely has 25 games of major league experience in the Dodgers' organization, but has been battling injury for the last year. He made one four-inning appearance for the Astros' AAA affiliate last year.

Celestino was 1-9 with a 6.12 ERA in 39 relief appearances for the Red Sox' AA affiliate last year.

Korea

Notable players headed to play in Korea for 2014: Jorge Cantu, Jairo Asencio and Ross Wolf.
